IPTV EPG Not Loading? Quick Fixes That Work
Fix your IPTV Electronic Program Guide when it won't load or shows wrong data. Solutions for Smarters, TiviMate, and all major apps.
What Is the EPG and Why Does It Fail?
The EPG (Electronic Program Guide) is the TV guide built into your IPTV app. It shows program names, times, and descriptions for each channel — similar to a cable TV guide.
EPG data comes from external XML feeds that your IPTV provider hosts. When the guide fails to load, the problem is usually a stale cache, a broken EPG URL, or a timeout during the initial data download.
Fix 1: Force Refresh the EPG
Most IPTV apps cache EPG data to avoid downloading it every time you open the app. If the cache is stale, the guide shows blank or outdated information.

Fix 2: Check the EPG URL
If your provider uses a separate EPG URL (common with M3U setups), verify it's entered correctly.
Fix 3: Change EPG Update Interval
By default, some apps update the EPG once every 24 hours. If the source data changes or expires sooner, you'll see blank guide slots.
Fix 4: Clear EPG Cache
Corrupted EPG cache data prevents new guide data from loading properly.
Fix 5: Wait for the Initial Load
On first setup or after a cache clear, the EPG download can take 3–10 minutes depending on channel count. A 10,000+ channel EPG is a large XML file.
Fix 6: Try a Different App
Some apps handle EPG data better than others:
If your EPG works in one app but not another, the issue is app-specific.
Fix 7: Contact Your Provider
If none of the above fixes work, the EPG source itself may be down or misconfigured.
Why Some Channels Never Have EPG
Not every channel in an IPTV lineup has EPG data. International channels, niche channels, and recently added channels often lack guide information. This is normal and not a bug — it depends on whether the channel broadcaster provides program data to IPTV EPG aggregators.
